Dershowitz Slams Critics Who Compared Trump’s Summit Performance To Kristallnacht — A ‘Form Of Holocaust Denial’

Liberal Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz on Friday hammered the equivalency made by Trump critics who compared the president’s Helsinki summit performance to the Holocaust.

Appearing on “Hannity” with fill-in host Judge Jeanine Pirro, Dershowitz first defined the word “treasonous” — a label many have tried to pin on President Trump — as an action that entails “levying war against the United States or adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort.”

“You can’t just throw that term around,” Dershowitz told Pirro. “It’s the only crime specifically defined in the Constitution.” (RELATED: ‘This Is Stupid Stuff’ — Lou Dobbs Owns Trump Critics Of Putin Summit With A Dose Of Common Sense)

Dershowitz added that “treason” is nothing like what President Trump did in Helsinki, just like Roosevelt didn’t commit a crime when he sat down with Stalin at Yalta.

Then Dershowitz responded particularly to MSNBC contributor Jill Wine-Banks, who said of Trump’s performance: “I would say that his performance today will live in infamy as much as the Pearl Harbor attack or Kristallnacht. And it’s really a serious issue we need to deal with.”

“To compare what President Trump did to the Holocaust or to Kristallnacht is a form of Holocaust denial,” he said. “Because what it suggests is that nothing more happened to the Jews than is happening today in America. It suggests there were no gas chambers, there were no killing fields, there was no plan to kill six million Jews. It’s a disgraceful comparison. And it just demeans the suffering that so many people went through during the Second World War.”
