“I want every journalist in this country, everyone, I don’t care who you work for, to be safe. And I will tell you right now, I will be the first person to come to your defense if I’m there and anyone ever dares lay a hand on you. If I was standing there, if I see it happen I will be the first person to jump in and fight on your behalf,” he began.

“Jim, I have a question, did you ever pick up the phone, did you call Sarah Sanders? Did you call Pam Bondi? The Secretary of State in Florida, did you call secretary Nielsen after their run out of places publicly in what looked like could become a violent situation, if you did, by the way, good for you,” he continued.

Acosta has continued to share his experiences from Trump’s rally. The CNN correspondent was heckled while doing a live broadcast before the president went on stage. (RELATED: Acosta Whines That Trump Rally Crowd Hates Him)

“Just because people chant ‘fake news’ doesn’t mean they would support any kind of violence in any way, and of course there’s plenty of bad rhetoric on a lot of sides of the aisle,” Hannity added. “Your network in particular, others in the mainstream media. You are not exactly telling the full story about things to the American people and I see abusive bias every single day, you’ve largely ignored the nasty rhetoric against Melania Trump.”
