President Donald Trump tweeted on Friday night, touting the latest Rasmussen polling that showed his daily approval rating for August 31 at 48 percent “despite the constant and intense Fake News.”

President Trump was referring to Rasmussen’s daily tracking poll for August 31, which showed him at 48 percent approval.

Trump also slammed the recently released ABC/Washington Post poll that showed his approval at 36 percent as “by far the least accurate one 2 weeks out from the 2016 election.”

His overall August rating stood at 47 percent, up one point from the previous month.
“The president earned a monthly job approval of 47% in August, up one point from July and just two points shy of 49% in April, his high for the year to date,” Rasmussen reported. “Fifty-one percent (51%) disapproved of his job performance last month, down one point from the month before.”
President Trump’s “higher than President Obama” comment wasn’t completely accurate, however. Former President Obama also stood at 48 percent in the same poll at this point in his presidency, on August 31, 2010.
