Marines rushed into a burning building in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday that housed dozens of elderly people and carried them from the scene, giving them shelter at the Marine Barracks close by.
Dozens of marines responded to the call after hearing over the radio that there was a fire at the Arthur Capper Senior Apartments. After entering the building and aiding firefighters in their rescue efforts, the marines brought many of the victims to the barracks where they were triaged and given food and water as needed.
