Rob Reiner got everyone’s attention when he tweeted that President Donald Trump was encouraging “white supremacists” to “kill Black people.”

“Because the president is a racist, white supremacists are encouraged to kill Black people,” the 73-year-old filmmaker tweeted to his followers. The comments were noted by the Washington Examiner in a piece published Thursday.  (RELATED:Rob Reiner: ‘There’s No Line’ Too Far When It Comes To Attacking Trump)

“Because the President is Incompetent 180,000 Americans are dead,” he added, without any further explanation.  (VIDEO: Rob Reiner On Trump’s Support: ‘There Are A Lot Of People Who Are Racist’)

Hours later, he accused the president of “inciting violence against Black Americans.”

“Stand with the NBA,” he added. “In 69 days we can drive this White Supremacist from the People’s House.”

The comments come after NBA players boycotted playoff games Wednesday following the police shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

The director made similar statements in July when he tweeted that those who support Trump are “racist.”

“The President of the United States is a racist,” the actor tweeted. “He’s made it abundantly clear his re-election is based on white nationalism.”

“If you support him, there can be no distinction between you being a racist and a racist enabler,” he added. “They are the same.”
