After Amy Coney Barrett was confirmed Monday to the Supreme Court, celebrities took to Twitter to express their opinions.
Barrett took the oath Monday night at the White House after being voted in 52-48. All Democrats in the senate opposed Barrett’s confirmation.
Many Hollywood stars also seemed to oppose Barrett’s confirmation.
Debra Messing called Barrett’s confirmation the “heist of the century.”

Hollywood director Rob Reiner criticized Barrett for attending a Trump campaign event at the White House following her confirmation. He called the move “shameless corruption.”
“Immediately after being sworn in, our latest Supreme Court Justice attends a campaign event for a disgraceful desperate Sociopath,” Reiner wrote. “The Corruption is shameless.
Cher used her platform to emphasize all the things she thinks Barrett will vote against while on the Supreme Court.

“3 of the justices on the Supreme Court were put there by Presidents who lost the popular vote,” Ruffalo tweeted. “There was the unjust denial of Obama’s pick in Merrick Garland and now the travesty of Amy Coney Barrett by a President 10 points behind in the polls. The Supreme Court needs balance.”
Actress Alyssa Milano called Trump’s Supreme Court process a “sham.”
“This Supreme Court process has been a sham – women deserve better than Donald Trump,” she tweeted. “Get him out of office. Make a plan – and vote.”
Not all celebrities were upset by the news of Barrett’s confirmation. “Duck Dynasty” star Phil Robertson took to Twitter to congratulate Barrett and thank President Trump.

Barrett takes the place of Ruth Bader Ginsburg on the Supreme Court bench. Ginsburg passed away on Sept. 18 after suffering complications from metastatic pancreatic cancer. Ginsburg served on the Supreme Court from 1993 until her death in 2020.
