Sports are pure ecstasy.
Argentina and France squared off Dec. 18 in the 2022 FIFA World Cup Final, seeking to reach the top of one of the highest mountains in the sports world — and honestly, the world overall — the right to call themselves world champions.
Many pundits have referred to the game as the greatest final in World Cup history, and I certainly have to agree. We had an intense 90 minutes and an additional 30 minutes of extra time that ultimately led to a penalty shootout. Altogether, we had 12 goals if you include penalties. Both sides’ biggest stars showed up, with Argentina’s Lionel Messi hitting two goals and Kylian Mbappe landing a hat trick (three goals) for the French. When the smoke cleared, it was the Argentines who held the solid gold trophy after the 3-3 (4-2 PK) win.
Back home, the citizens of the South American nation enacted full-glory mode in celebration:

This is truly incredible, and shows you the absolute magic of soccer.
Argentina’s celebration brought us flooded streets, crying announcers and smokeshows with their breasts out. I don’t think they could’ve celebrated any better than they did — it was beautiful.
Oh, and with the smokeshow, shoutout to her for not giving a damn whatsoever about Qatar’s laws. I mean, seriously, this is the World Cup, something that only happens once every four years. I don’t blame her. Get ’em out for the boys! And heading into Dec. 18, Argentina hadn’t won one since 1986. Lionel Messi checked off the only missing box on his legendary resume after winning the tournament, and it was his last one to boot. Destiny screamed at the top of its lungs. What an absolutely fantastic final that was though, definitely the greatest of all time.
And it ended with outright glory — for Argentina, and all of the Argentines in my beloved Miami.
Just a perfect way to end an amazing World Cup.
