Narcotics agents arrested an alleged drug dealer who reportedly showed up to a Las Vegas sting operation with 52 pounds of methamphetamine, according to documents obtained by KLAS.

Veken Ibrahim Yousif, who now faces a charge for conspiring to distribute a controlled substance, allegedly sold meth to an undercover informant over the course of a few months in early 2023, KLAS reported.

The first transaction reportedly occurred in January at a gas station in the vicinity of Las Vegas Boulevard and Blue Diamond Road south of the Las Vegas Strip. Yousif arrived in a Porsche automobile and allegedly sold three pounds of meth to the undercover informant, according to KLAS.

Yousif allegedly repeated the same transaction in February. The undercover informant again met the alleged drug dealer on March 14 and planned to buy a larger quantity of the drug, the outlet reported. U.S. Marshals then arrested Yousif and seized around 52 pounds of meth, according to KLAS. (RELATED: Police Seize Enough Fentanyl To Kill 173,000 People, Along With Huge Meth Haul)

Judge Brenda Weksler later ordered Yousif released from detention under his personal recognizance, KLAS reported.

In 2022 alone U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) seized massive quantities of meth, including one “mother load” worth $18.6 million, along the southern border.
