Law enforcement officials arrested a woman after she allegedly stabbed three individuals at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, according to the City of Atlanta Police Department (CAPD).

After responding to a call from the airport, authorities encountered a woman allegedly holding a knife, CAPD said. When officers attempted to engage with her, she allegedly stabbed an adult woman and a law enforcement official who was trying to arrest her near the airport’s south terminal, per CAPD.

“During the encounter the female suspect stabbed an adult female and then an APD lieutenant as he attempted to take her into custody. Another officer was then able to tackle and disarm the female and take her into custody,” CAPD’s statement reads. “After taking the female into custody, officers learned she had stabbed an adult male, prior to officers encountering her.” (RELATED: ‘Tragic, Tragic Homicide’: 13-Year-Old Fatally Stabbed On Bus By Teen)

Details surrounding the motive behind her actions remain unclear, leaving investigators to piece together the events that transpired, police said.

“The preliminary investigation indicates the female stabbed the driver of a taxi she was in, as it was pulling up to the airport. She then exited the taxi and walked into the airport where officers encountered her a short time later,” CAPD said.

All the victims were alert, conscious and breathing and were transported to a hospital for treatment, police confirmed. The suspect, whose name was not released, was reportedly not injured.
