Mark Cuban revealed during a recent appearance on the “All the Smoke” podcast he’s departing “Shark Tank” after more than a decade on the show.

The billionaire investor said he feels “it’s time” to move on from the series he’s been a part of since season 2.

“This is our 15th year, and next year, our 16th year, is gonna be my last year,” he said on the podcast. “So I got one more year to go.”

Cuban told hosts Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson he is grateful for the impact the series has had during his tenure. “I love it because it sends the message the American dream is alive and well,” Cuban said.

Cuban explained how he felt about the success of the show and the businesses that are thriving as a result of their exposure on the program.

“I feel like in doing Shark Tank all these years, we’ve trained multiple generations of entrepreneurs, that if somebody can come from Iowa or Sacramento or wherever, and show up on the carpet of ‘Shark Tank’ and show their business and get a deal, it’s going to inspire generations of kids,” he said.

“That’s what happens, right? Now we’ve got people coming on saying, ‘I watched you when I was 10 years old.’ I’m like, ‘Fuck!’ But we’re helping them right?” Cuban said.

The famous entrepreneur admitted he lost track of how many businesses he has invested in over the course of his time on the show. “I’ve invested in, I don’t know how many hundreds of companies,” he noted.

Cuban’s total investment during his time on “Shark Tank” was estimated to be $29 million in at least 85 companies, according to Forbes.
