Police arrested former NBA champion Rajon Rondo on Sunday for unlawful possession of a firearm, drug paraphernalia and marijuana.

The former basketball star was pulled over for a traffic violation in Jackson County, Indiana, according to WDRB. The police officer smelled marijuana, which led to the search of the Rondo’s vehicle. The officer found a gun and a “personal use” amount of marijuana and paraphernalia. All charges were misdemeanors, the outlet noted.

The former NBA player was then taken to Jackson County Jail where he posted bond and has since been released, according to jail records.

Rondo, 37, was not allowed to have a gun due to a court order, WDRB noted.

His initial court hearing was scheduled for Feb. 27, according to the outlet.

This is not Rondo’s first run-in with the law. The ex-NBA point guard had an emergency protective order filed against him in 2o22, but the charges were dropped when he and the woman came to an agreement, according to ESPN. The woman who initially made the charges against Rondo claimed he threatened her with a gun, the outlet reported.

The former NBA star played 16 seasons with various teams and won championships with the Celtics in 2008 and the Lakers in 2020. (RELATED: NBA Coach Rocks ‘Jesus, Coffee And Jiu-Jitsu’ Shirt In Postgame Press Conference)
