A Haitian national allegedly raped a 15-year-old girl Wednesday at a hotel migrant shelter in Massachusetts, investigators said, according to WCVB.

Cory B. Alvarez has been accused of raping a migrant teenage girl at around 7 p.m. at the Comfort Inn in Rockland, investigators said, WCVB reported. Alvarez was charged on one count of aggravated rape of a child but pleaded not guilty Thursday in Hingham District Court, according to WCVB. The state was using the hotel as a shelter to house migrants.

The victim told investigators that Alvarez pushed her onto a bed in a room and allegedly raped her when she was receiving help with apps on a tablet, according to the outlet. Multiple translators reportedly relayed the victim’s words to English because she spoke to investigators in French Creole.

“I told him to leave me alone, but he didn’t stop,” the victim told investigators, according to WCVB.

The victim directed police to the room and pointed out Alvarez as her alleged rapist, a police report reads, according to WCVB. The suspect has been living in the 110-room hotel since Oct. 2023 after crossing into the United States in June. 2023, according to his attorney. The attorney said Alvarez was seeking immigration status. (RELATED: Woman Hosting Illegal Migrant At Her Home Reportedly Says Experience Is Like Having ‘Personal Chef’)

Alvarez was ordered to surrender his passport and refrain from contacting the victim while in custody and is being held until a dangerousness hearing March 22, according to the outlet.

The town released a statement revealing they had no say in the state’s decision to use the hotel as a migrant shelter, WCVB reported.

“Everybody in this hotel and our emergency shelter and all of the emergency shelters are either American citizens or they’re migrants from other countries that have legally entered the country,” Town Administrator Douglas Lapp said.

Rockland police said the incident was isolated, according to the outlet.

“Our department provides community outreach to the hotel. We also work in close partnership with the National Guard who are stationed there, and we work to just make it as safe as possible,” Police Chief Nicholas Zeoli said.
