Snow approaching, Bloomberg determined to improve response

Okay Mayor Bloomberg, here’s a chance to redeem yourself.

Snow started falling on New York City around 5 a.m. Friday and unlike Christmas week – when city workers were routed by a 20 inch avalanche – this time City Hall was ready.

And this time, Bloomberg was in town.

The Sanitation Department’s 365 salt spreaders were out on the streets when the first flakes started falling and their 1,700 snowplows were on standby to start clearing once two inches accumulated.
