Valerie Jarrett, the senior aide to President Barack Obama, indicated in an interview that aired Sunday that she is open to running for office someday herself.

Speaking with NBC’s Cynthia McFadden during an interview on Meet the Press, Jarrett said it is “unlikely” she would ever pull the trigger on a run, but did not close the door completely.

Jarrett, a longtime Obama staffer and family friend who has the ear of the president, also said she’s “absolutely 100 percent positive” that first lady Michelle Obama will not run for elected office.

Here is an excerpt:

CYNTHIA MCFADDEN:  Is Michelle Obama going to run for office?
VALERIE JARRETT: No.  On that–
CYNTHIA MCFADDEN: You said that very definitively.
VALERIE JARRETT: Well, I’m absolutely 100% positive that that will never happen.
CYNTHIA MCFADDEN: How about Valerie Jarrett?  Will you ever run for office?
VALERIE JARRETT: Unlikely.
CYNTHIA MCFADDEN: But maybe?
VALERIE JARRETT: Not as definitive as the first lady, but highly unlikely.
