With a majestic mullet flowing and mustache raging, a Philadelphia Phillies fan took in Wednesday’s spring training game in Clearwater, Florida with his best friend.

No, not the woman sitting next to him similarly decked out in Phillies gear, but the dog that snoozed through part of the game against the Houston Astros from a baby carrier on his owner’s chest.

No doubt parched from its long afternoon in the sun and exhausted from being carried around all day, the dog rehydrated himself after a quick nap by adorably drinking out of a water bottle cap.

While the once-prominent talent-filled Phillies roster has gone to the dogs, a young core of players looks to prove that the team’s bark is nothing compared to its bite.

The dog’s appearance on the television broadcast to begin the eighth inning proved pivotal for Philadelphia. Down 3-0, the dog’s owner-aided clapping sparked the Phillies eight-run bottom of the eighth, improving their Grapefruit League record to 15-10.
