Sen. [crscore]Bob Corker[/crscore] whose name has been tossed around as Donald Trump’s possible vice presidential nominee claimed that he has “no reason whatsoever to believe that I’m being considered for a position like that.”

Speaking outside of Trump Tower in New York on Monday after a meeting with Trump, Corker said that “this was a meeting between two people didn’t know each other except over phone calls and getting to know each other and that’s it.”

“I said this when this all came up a couple weeks ago, I have no reason whatsoever to believe that I’m being considered for a position like that. I’ll say that until I’m blue in my face,” Corker claimed.

“I would guess that the campaign, I mean those kinds of things will take a while and I have no reason to believe that I’m being considered,” Corker said.

Later, Corker was asked if he would “consider a role in a future Trump administration” to which he offered this intriguing response:

“You know I think every– as I have said before, look I’m in, I’m doing what I’m doing because I care deeply about policy and want to see the country to succeed, I want to see us solve the many problems that we have as a nation and I think those types of questions, obviously you want to know what the circumstances were, what the relationship is. Again, even to offer conjecture around something that I have no reason to believe is even being considered is not even responsible thing for me to do.”

Sen. Corker of Tennessee is the Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
