While Americans in the eastern U.S. huddle for warmth indoors on Thanksgiving Day, forecasts suggest Southern Californians should expect record-warm beach weather.
Southern California could see record-breaking warmth on Wednesday and Thursday, with temperatures north of 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Record-breaking heat could also set in across the Desert Southwest, and near record-breaking heat in the Pacific Northwest.

The Desert Southwest could also see temperatures in the 90s, and the Pacific Northwest can expect temperatures in mid-60s, though as usual northwesterners can expect plenty of clouds and storms.
“The high pressure system building in across the West during the holiday week will be pretty significant, and will really pump up temperatures across the region,”AccuWeather meteorologist Renee Duffey said in a report.
“There could be multiple days of record or at least near-record warmth across the Rockies and in California,” said Duffey.
Meanwhile, most of the country is set to be at or below freezing on Monday. Temperatures are expected to remain cold through Thanksgiving Day, according to Maue.
About 63% of Lower 48 real-estate is forecast to be at/below freezing (32°F) Monday morning. If far western Florida panhandle participates, then that’s all Lower 48.
