NBC News host Megyn Kelly spoke out about her former colleague, Matt Lauer, in the wake of sexual assault allegations against him Wednesday.
“I, too, have known Matt for a long time. He has been a friend, and kind and supportive to me in my transition to NBC News,” Kelly said, Page Six reported.
Kelly recalled Lauer’s friendship and the seriousnesses of the claims against him after he was fired late Tuesday night for “inappropriate workplace behavior,” according to NBC officials.
“What we don’t see is the pain on the faces who found the courage to come forward, and it is a terrifying thing to do,” Kelly said during her show.
