The rape and strangulation of a 14-year-old German Jewish girl by an Iraqi asylum seeker left the Jewish community of Mainz in shock. Detectives found the body of Susanna Feldmann a few miles from her home on June 6.
Susanna’s death is the latest in a series of violent crimes against women in Germany, including the October 2016 rape and murder of 19-year-old Maria Ladenburger by an Afghan asylum seeker and the December 2017stabbing murder of 15-year-old Mia Valentin by her ex-boyfriend, an Afghan migrant.
Since German Chancellor Angela Merkel opened Germany to mass migration in 2015, migrant sex crime in the country has skyrocketed. Sexual assault, rape and sexual abuse of children have increased by nearly 500 percent over the past four years, according to Germany’s Federal Criminal Police Office.
And where is Merkel? The German Chancellor’s governing coalition is hard at work, producing state-funded feminist porn and broadcasting it to the public in order to combat sexist stereotypes.
Compounding Merkel’s cluelessness, Germany’s migrant sex-crime epidemic is exacerbated by its legal system. The Gatestone Institute reveals that offenders receive relatively light sentences even for serious crimes. In many cases, individuals arrested for sex crimes are released after questioning by police.
For example, a 29-year-old Afghan asylum seeker entered the Hamburg hospital room of a 15-year-old girl and performed sex acts on her, after sexually assaulting a 29-year-old woman in her hospital room. Police detained and later released the man, saying that there were insufficient grounds to press charges.
Also in Hamburg, a court ruled that an Iraqi migrant who raped a 13-year-old girl in a subway station was not guilty of sexual abuse of children because he supposedly could not have known that the girl was a child. (German law defines children as under 14 years of age.) In Berlin, a court acquitted a 23-year-old Turkish man of rape because his victim could not prove that she hadn’t consented. The court also said it could not distinguish between actual rape and what is simply considered “wild sex” in Turkish culture.
Under Merkel’s governance, there is no sign that this epidemic of violence against women will begin to diminish. Nearly a thousand people are believed to have left Germany to join the Islamic State terror group. Some are returning to the country along with brainwashed children, which has been in the spotlight given that three of the five 2016 Islamist attacks in Germany were carried out by minors, such as a 12-year-old boy’s attempted bombing of a Christmas market in Ludwigshafen.
Coupled with the 300 ISIS fighters that have already returned to Germany according to security intelligence service Soufan Center, the future looks very grim for the safety and security of German women.
Instead of praising Merkel for her displays of female empowerment such as the now-viral G-7 photo of her standing over President Trump, feminists should be outraged that one of the most powerful women in the Western world has allowed Germany to become a safe space for those who pose a threat to women.
