A Detroit pastor was charged Monday for the murder of a transgender person, authorities reported.

Sterling Heights pastor Albert Weathers, 46, was charged Monday with murdering Kelly Stough, 36, Fox News reported Wednesday.

Stough was born a biological man and identified as Tristan before his transition to become a female. Stough was shot dead and found dead lying in a Detroit street Friday, according to authorities, Fox News reported.

Weathers was charged with first-degree murder and is currently being held in prison on a $1 million bond, according to Fox News.

He was also charged with the use of a firearm in commission of a felony, according to ABC7.

“He was always a happy kid but bullied because of his tendencies,” Stough’s mother, Jessica Williams Stough, told FOX 2 Detroit.

“She had a lot of people who loved her. She just wasn’t nobody,” Jessica Williams Stough also said about her son, ABC7 reported.

Stough’s family and friends will hold a funeral 3 p.m. Saturday, according to ABC7.
