Cleveland Browns running back Kareem Hunt was baptized over the weekend.
Adam Schefter reported the news on Twitter Sunday. The baptism comes after a long and hard few months for Hunt and is likely his best effort to turn over a new leaf.
New Browns’ RB Kareem Hunt is being baptized today in Cleveland. “I’m looking forward to it so I can feel reborn,” Hunt told reporters last week.

I just got into a debate about this in the office. I have no idea what’s in Kareem Hunt’s heart, but it’s going to take a lot more than getting baptized for me to believe he’s a changed man.
Let’s not forget this is the same guy who got shown the door by the Chiefs after a TMZ video was released appearing to show him getting physical with a woman. (RELATED: Will A Team Sign NFL Player Cut After Alleged Violence Against A Woman? Here’s What Executives Are Saying)
It’s going to take substantially more.
I’m not cheering against Hunt. Not at all. This is America, and this country loves a great comeback story, especially when somebody rights his wrongs.
Having said that, let’s not pretend for a second like what Hunt allegedly did was okay or not a big. Getting caught on a security camera appearing to get physical with a woman is about as low as it gets. The fact he was only out of the NFL for a couple months is truly mind-boggling.
I wish Hunt nothing but the best, and I hope the baptism is for real. With a little more time and a lot more positive actions, then Hunt can hopefully successfully rehab his image and career.
