Houston Astros star pitcher Justin Verlander and his wife Kate Upton have entered the war on coronavirus.

The MLB star announced Saturday that he’d be donating his paychecks to help those in need during the coronavirus pandemic. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

Upton said they’ll be picking and highlighting a new organization every week. You can watch their full video announcement below.

Recently the @mlb announced they will be continuing to send paychecks to players while the season is suspended. @kateupton and I have decided to donate those funds to a different organization each week so that we can support their efforts and highlight the great work they’re doing during the COVID-19 crisis. Everyone around the world is affected by this virus, and we hope to contribute to the families and jobs affected, the healthcare workers and first responders on the front lines and the many others in need of basic necessities, medical supplies and support at home. As soon as the first paycheck is received we will be highlighting the first organization. We know everyone is impacted by this crisis, but for those who are able, we encourage you to stay home to help flatten the curve and look to those around you who need a helping hand. #covid19 #flattenthecurve

This is a 100% pure class move from Upton and Verlander. Nobody would say anything if they didn’t donate their money.

It’s their money. They can do whatever they want with it, but Verlander clearly understands that there are people in need.

He understands that people have it much worse than him and Upton, especially with the fact the MLB is continuing to pay players.

So, they’ve entered the war, and will be using their vast financial resources to win the fight against coronavirus.

This is the kind of stuff we love to see, and Verlander and Upton both deserve to be applauded for helping those who need it.

Hopefully, more and more people with the means and resources will step up to join the fight. Props to Verlander and Upton for setting one hell of an example.
