Kelly Kay, the girlfriend of late Oregon Ducks tight end Spencer Webb announced Monday that she is pregnant with his child.

Kay shared the news on her Instagram page on Monday, writing that “We created an angel before heaven gained one [emoji] all you ever wanted was to be a father … I know you’ll be the best one from up above. Can’t believe I have to do it without you but knowing I’ll have a piece of you keeps me going. I can’t wait to meet the person that’s half you, half me. I love you forever, both of you.”

Kay posted a number of sonogram photographs along with texts between herself and Webb where he expressed his intention to get her pregnant. The couple announced their relationship shortly before Webb’s death earlier in the summer, TMZ Sports reported.

Webb, who played tight end for the Ducks, died in July aged 22, according to ESPN. The collegiate athlete fell and struck his head at a popular lake near Eugene, Oregon, where bystanders were unable to revive him. His death appeared to be accidental.
