Charlamagne Tha God called Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ a “genius” for his plan to send migrants to Martha’s Vineyard to show Democrats’ “hypocrisy.”

Charlamagne hosted a panel discussion on Comedy Central’s “Hell of a Week” about DeSantis’ move to send two planes of migrants to the Massachusetts enclave for elites.

“Just in time for Hispanic heritage month, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis upped the game by sending two planefuls of immigrants to the East Coast elites’ favorite vacation island, Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts,” Charlamagne said.

“I personally think it’s genius,” he continued. “But I wish that governors like Ron DeSantis and Greg Abbott would give Democratic governors and mayors more of a heads-up. Because then, that would expose the hypocrisy of the Democrats, which is, they don’t want immigrants here either.”

Co-panelist Angela Rye then chided Republicans for “priding themselves” on sending migrants to other communities who aren’t expecting to receive them, though Charlamagne pushed back, noting a lot of those places are sanctuary destinations. Rye said it “didn’t matter,” though, because it is “a political game.”

Co-panelist Roy Wood Jr. argued Republicans relocating migrants is akin to some Democratic cities trying to hide their homelessness issues by sending “their homeless people to the outside counties,” he said.

“They deliberately hide people already. So a lot of these Democrats that are complaining about the Republicans are running something similar within their own counties,” Wood said. (RELATED: It Only Took 24 Hours For A Rich Liberal Enclave To Kick Out Their Illegal Migrants)

Charlamagne went on to question whether makes more sense to send the migrants to sanctuary cities rather than sending them to states that want to curb the flow of illegal immigration.

Rye said there needs to be “humanity” and “compassion,” and accused Abbott and DeSantis of being scared about a “browning” of their state, referencing most of the migrants’ skin color.

DeSantis sent two planes of illegal migrants to Martha’s Vineyard on Wednesday as part of a broader effort to transport migrants who cross the U.S.-Mexico border illegally to Democrat-run sanctuary cities. Abbott sent two buses of migrants to Vice President Kamala Harris’ front steps Thursday morning. The buses came from Eagle Pass, Texas and transported 75 to 100 illegal migrants from Venezuela, Uruguay, Colombia and Mexico.
