A Los Angeles Kings fan was injured after taking a slap shot to the face during warmups prior to the Kings’ opening night matchup against the Las Vegas Golden Knights on Tuesday.

The sailing puck struck season-ticket holder Jeremy Aaronson, who was watching players take shots on net with his 11-year-old son, TMZ reported. The puck sailed over the glass and hit Aaronson between the eyes, breaking his nose and causing a laceration to his forehead, according to the outlet.

Medics at the Crypto.com Arena attended to Aaronson, who was later transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital. According to CBS Sports, Aaronson continued to follow the Kings-Knights matchup from his phone during the ride to the hospital.

The season-ticket holder made the most of a crappy situation that left him a bloody mess, but the Kings still owe him big time. At the very least, the franchise should reimburse his ticket, since he never had the opportunity to watch the game in person. A whole lot of gifted merchandise from the team could also go a long way toward compensating Aaronson for the unexpected broken nose he suffered.
