Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on Friday attacked Republican Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene in response to a question from CNN host Chris Wallace about whether both major parties are too extreme.

In response to the question about Democrats and Republicans moving away from the “fringes,” Ocasio-Cortez answered that although many people may agree with that notion, she is not “extreme in the way that Marjorie Taylor Green on the Republican side is characterized as extreme.”

The self-described democratic socialist elaborated, claiming that her brand of extremism means “guaranteed universal healthcare,” whereas Greene wants “undocumented people” to “incur physical harm.” Ocasio-Cortez added that she would “object” to the idea that she and Greene are “the same level of extreme.” (RELATED: Obama Presidential Center Construction Suspended After Alleged Noose Found At Site)

Earlier in the segment, Ocasio-Cortez said she feels threatened due to recent incidents of political violence, the New York Post reported. “I felt that my life has been in danger since the moment that I won my primary election in 2018. And it became especially intensified when I was first brought into Congress in 2019,” she stated, adding that she hesitates to walk her dog down the street.

Ocasio-Cortez pointed her finger Tuesday at Fox News host and Daily Caller co-founder Tucker Carlson as a source of this political violence. “Like, I can tell you 110 per cent, one of the largest sources of death threats that I get is Tucker Carlson,” she said, according to the Independent.

She accused Carlson of “stochastic terrorism,” suggesting that he motivates people to commit acts of violence by criticizing her on his show, according to the outlet.
