On a weekend when two of the projected participants (USC, then TCU) in this year’s College Football Playoffs both lost their respective conference championships, defending national champion Georgia took care of business against LSU. And perhaps nothing better symbolizes the Bulldogs’ domination this season than the sight of what the biggest and arguably most talented future NFL star on Georgia’s loaded defense, Jalen Carter, did to LSU’s quarterback. He not only sacked Jayden Daniels, but picked him up in one arm before gently putting him back down like he was picking up a toddler.

The play occurred late in the second quarter with the Bulldogs comfortably ahead and the LSU offense already behind the chains due to a tackle for loss by Carter on first down. The visual was stunning in its demonstration of raw power and domination, with the massive defensive tackle holding LSU’s 6’3″ 200 pound QB aloft while using his free hand to signal that Georgia is far and away the number one team in the country.

It was a sack that turned a few heads.

“Jalen Carter oh my,” Barstool Sports tweeted in all-caps.

“Did y’all see what Jalen Carter just did to LSU qb? Picked the qb be [sic] up with one hand and held 1 finger in the air with the other. He might be better than any of the Def lineman drafted from Ga in the 1st rd last yr and that’s saying something,” former NFL player and current analyst Shannon Sharpe assessed in a tweet.

Georgia coasted to a 50-30 victory. If that play by the behemoth Bulldog tackle is any indication, whatever teams find their way into the playoffs are going to have to reckon with one impressive defense if they hope to keep Georgia from repeating as national champs.
