Well, this is embarrassing.

On a neutral pitch in Cary, North Carolina Dec. 12, the Syracuse University Orange and Indiana University Hoosiers squared off for the NCAA College Cup championship. In an eight-round penalty kick shootout, Syracuse goalkeeper Russell Shealy blocked two shots, with the Orange’s Amferny Sinclair securing the game-winner to earn the No. 3 ranked team in the nation its first college soccer national championship in program history.

In the 80th minute of the match, Indiana tied the game up 2-2, forcing overtime for the sixth time in the past nine editions of the College Cup. After two scoreless 10-minute overtimes, they went to penalties, with Syracuse getting the 2-2 (7-6) win.

The eight rounds went down as the longest penalty shootout in the history of the College Cup.

Well, during the game, Indiana was holding a watch party at the Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall:

And while I’m sure everything went well for the most part throughout the game, it ended in disastrous fashion.

Okay, so let’s set the stage: Imagine yourself being a student at Indiana University and the school has been hyping up the College Cup ever since they punched their tickets, so it starts to get you excited. Hey, your team is in the national championship, why wouldn’t you want to support them? (RELATED: Neymar Unsure If He’ll Play For Country Again After World Cup Loss)

So we get to the day of the game, and you’re all amp’d up to watch and see your school win a ring, so you go to the watch party, and after an intense match, you’re brought into a penalty shootout where your team just suffered a heartbreaking 7-6 loss. Imagine that pain, imagine how you would feel. Personally, it would be a punch to the gut.

And right as you’re starting to deal with that heartbreak, you have this big beauty pop up right in front of your face:

Ouch.

And then imagine going back to your dorm room, you get on Twitter and you see this bad boy:

What a rough night.
