A pair of recent polls suggest that Democratic voters are have seen enough of President Joe Biden and are ready to move on.

A poll from AP-NORC states that only 37% of Democrats want President Biden to run for reelection. This is a significant decrease from the 52% of voters that wanted him to run in the weeks leading up to the midterm elections.

A majority of Americans (51%) believe Biden has “hardly any” ability to effectively manage government spending, according to the poll. The same percentage of Americans believe that Biden has the ability to effectively work with Republicans in Congress. Only 25% of Americans believe that the country is on the right track, as compared to 73% that believe it’s on the wrong path, the poll found.

Another poll conducted by ABC News/Washington Post shows a similarly gloomy picture for the President. Thirty-one percent of Democrats want Biden to run again and 58% want someone else, according to the poll.

The poll also shows pessimistic economic perceptions from the public, which might contribute to the desire to move off from Biden. The poll states that 41% of Americans report being worse off under the Biden Presidency than when he first took office. For comparison, 13% of Americans reported feeling worse off financially under the first year of former President Donald Trump‘s administration.

The AP-NORC polled 1,068 adults and was conducted between Jan. 26-30 with a 4.2% margin of sampling error. The ABC News/Washington Post poll was conducted between Jan. 27-Feb. 1 with 1,003 adult participants and a 3.5% margin of sampling error.
