Super Bowl LVII parties are expected to be significantly more expensive than previous years, but there’s one party staple bucking the trend: the glorious, greasy chicken wing.

Meat, fish, eggs, fruit and veggies are each 8% more expensive in February compared to December 2022, according to data compiled by the Consumer Price Index (CPI). Non-alcoholic beverages and alcohol are 8% and 13% more expensive within the same timeframe, respectively.

Chicken wings are expected to be much cheaper for this year’s title game compared to 2022. Wings currently run $2.62 per pound, a significant decrease from last year’s price of $2.98, according data collected by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). Leading up to Super Bowl LVI, the USDA reported chicken wings cost $3.38 per pound.

Although the price of wings generally rises in the days leading up to the Super Bowl, they are expected to be 22% cheaper compared to last year, according to a report by Wells Fargo.

Beer will be 11% more expensive in 2023, according to data compiled by the Federal Reserve Economic Data (FRED). Avocado prices are expected to be 20% cheaper than last year, according to Swanson.
