Actors Will Smith and Martin Lawrence teased their return to the silver screen Monday with the fourth installment of the “Bad Boys” film franchise.
The tease came on the opening day of CinemaCon, according to Variety.
“We’re hype, we’re excited,” Smith told a crowd, apologizing for not being able to be there in person for the Las Vegas convention.
“We’re not sorry we couldn’t be there,” Lawrence noted, adding that they were four weeks into filming the next “Bad Boys” flick. “We glad we not there because we here and they’re paying us to be here.”
The latest movie was written by Chris Bremner, Variety noted. A load of old faces are rejoining Smith and Lawrence on set.

Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig and Paola Nunez have signed on to the Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah-directed movie.

The movie might be the best way for Smith to move on from “slapgate” or “the slap heard around the world” during the 2022 Oscars awards show. Smith jumped on stage during the ceremony after Chris Rock cracked a joke about Smith’s wife. Smith slapped Rock while screaming profanities.
Though he apologized for the incident, he conceded that the relationship with Rock and his family was likely “irreparable.” In the following months, a majority of the public discussion of the slap turned on Jada Pinkett Smith, Smith’s wife.
