The new Netflix documentary “Anna Nicole Smith: You Don’t Know Me” highlights her time at Playboy, drug addiction, and the allegation that her estranged father propositioned her for sex.

Smith’s life is presented with insight from her closest friends, and covers the bombshell allegation that her very own father tried to have sex with her. The story of her troubled life, her marriage to billionaire oilman J. Howard Marshall, and her son Daniel Smith’s death by overdose in 2006 are also included.

Smith, whose legal name was Vickie Lynn Hogan, loved the spotlight. She began her career working at strip clubs, progressing to roles in movies and modeling advertisements. She was most notably famous for marrying Marshall, who left her out of his will when he died, according to Fox News.

The documentary takes a deep dive into Smith’s childhood through interviews with relatives, such as her uncle George Beall and her mother Virgie Mae Hogan. Both recall Smith’s love for the spotlight and her desire to be the “center of attention,” according to Fox News.

“She always wanted to be the center of attention, and she enjoyed it,” Virgie is heard saying in an audio clip.

Smith’s friend Missy claimed she was her first female lover, and revealed she suggested Smith undergo breast enlargement when she first began working at a strip club. Missy said this was the time Smith became dependent on pain medication, noting she was taking “Valium, Xanax, Lortabs, Vicodin and the Klonopin” according to Fox News.

“From that time on, she was always taking them. There was nothing she could do to stop it,” Missy said in the documentary.

Missy said she cut ties with Smith because she became “an egotistical monster” and “a full-blown drug addict. There’s no way around it. She [was] taking a lot of drugs,” she said.

The documentary then covered Smith’s Hollywood fame, noting that once she became successful, she located her biological father Donald Hogan and her half-brother Donnie Hogan. Missy said her father “tried to have sex with her” after their reunion, according to Fox News.

“It was really sad to see that happen for her,” Missy said. “She was so, so disappointed.” (RELATED: Woman Sues Netflix, Claiming Exploitation In Kanye West Documentary)

The documentary also features audio clips of Marshall trying to get in touch with Smith after their wedding. Smith was 26 years old while Marshall was 89. Missy said Smith began mistreating him, keeping him around mostly “as an ATM,” according to Fox.

Smith posed for Playboy magazine, modeled for Guess jeans and had a few minor acting roles in the ’90s films “The Hudsucker Proxy” and “Naked Gun 33⅓: The Final Insult.”

Smith died in Florida in 2007, from a drug overdose. She left behind a five-month-old daughter Dannielynn Birkhead from as relationship with actor Larry Birkhead, according to Fox News. The former Playmate was 39 at the time of her death.
