Independent Arizona Sen. Kyrsten Sinema slammed President Joe Biden and Democrats over funding for the flood of illegal migrants who continue to cross the border daily, saying border states should be receiving more funding than states like New York.
In an interview released Wednesday with Politico, Sinema shared her issues with New York receiving millions of dollars more in border relief than Arizona. Both Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries represent New York.
“It’s fairly obvious. I don’t know if you noticed, but the announcement about that $104 million came out first, in a joint press release from Schumer and Jeffries — not from the White House or from FEMA. The first news of it broke by their press release,” Sinema said, in reference to funds given to New York.

Sinema also told the outlet that there seems to be a “lack of understanding of what the experience is like in border communities, and a willingness to shortchange the work that is happening in those communities without realizing the impact it has on the entire system,” adding, “that’s very frustrating.”

Earlier in August, Sinema said she was “livid” over the way her state was being treated in regard to the border crisis and called out Schumer and Jeffries. (RELATED: ‘Answers To Corporations And Billionaires’: Dems Blast Kyrsten Sinema After She Leaves The Party)
“My staff is gonna be really upset but I’m gonna tell you the truth here,” Sinema said at the time. “The reason the money is going to New York is because … the leader of the United States Senate is from New York. That is how a bunch of money went to New York.”
