Five teenagers and three adults were injured Sunday in the second shooting in Minneapolis in nine days.
The shooting happened right before 6 p.m. and was first heard by Metro Transit police officers, CBS News Minnesota reported. Minneapolis Police Department (MPD) officers transported four teenage victims to Hennepin Healthcare, while three adult victims went on foot. Another teenager transported himself to Children’s Minnesota Hospital.

MPD found 41 shell casings, and a residence was hit by flying bullets. “This location has been a hot spot for criminal activity in the past, so we do not have any information to indicate this would’ve been random at this time. “I’m deeply saddened to hear about the tragic incident in Minneapolis. In times like these, coming together as a community is crucial,” Democratic state Rep. Ilhan Omar wrote in a tweet. “My thoughts are with the victims, their families, and the entire community as they navigate through this traumatic event.”
MPD is still searching for the suspects and hopes a surveillance camera might aid their investigation, CBS reported.
Five shooting victims in Minneapolis were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries at roughly 10:15 p.m. Aug. 11, local outlet WCCO reported. One individual transported themselves, and one person died during the shooting.
