A Massachusetts judge has issued an arrest warrant for star Los Angeles Chargers cornerback J.C. Jackson after he failed to appear for a Friday probationary hearing, MassLive.com’s Chris Mason reported Monday.

Jackson, who signed a five year $82.5 million deal with the Chargers in 2022, was charged with criminal speeding in 2021, according to MassLive.

He failed to meet the terms of his probation for the incident, which included participating in the Massachusetts “Brains At Risk” program and paying a $300 fine. When Jackson failed to appear for a Friday probation hearing, a judge issued the arrest warrant, MassLive reported.

He was a healthy scratch for the Chargers in their Sunday win against the Minnesota Vikings, but head coach Brandon Staley did not elaborate on why, telling reporters after the game that it was “just a coaching decision, we felt like this was the right group for this game, and really nothing more than that.”

When asked if Jackson would return to the lineup Staley said it was “to be determined.”

Jackson previously spent four years with the New England Patriots where he earned the nickname “Mr. Int” after snagging 25 interceptions. But the Pro Bowler only appeared in five games for the Chargers in 2022 due to various injuries. (RELATED: NFL Team’s Nightmare Week Continues After $100K Worth Of Equipment Was Stolen From Stadium)

The cornerback went undrafted in 2018, despite his obvious talent, after a tumultuous college career that saw him leave the Florida Gators following a 2015 arrest for armed robbery. He was charged with three counts of armed home invasion but later acquitted of all charges.

The controversial star was also booked in Massachusetts in December for a “non-violent family issue,” according to ESPN.
