A woman was found dead Sept. 1 near the Welsh town of Guilsfield, Welshpool, after a suspected cow attack, the BBC reports.
The body of Lorna Milward, 59, was found at the bottom of a slope in a cattle field, the BBC reported Monday. It’s believed she’d been walking her four dogs through the field when the cows allegedly attacked.
“A female had been walking four dogs in a field on a bridleway with cows in the field,” coroner’s officer Lynne Carroll told the BBC. “It is unknown how it occurred but the female received multiple injuries from the cows and was located deceased down a slope away from the bridleway.”

Milward suffered “multiple traumatic injuries,” which was the official cause of death presented at a hearing, the outlet reported. Despite the findings of the hearing, an inquest will also be held at a future date to figure out precisely what happened and how it can be avoided again in the future. Cows kill an average of 22 individuals per year in the U.S., according to the World Animal Foundation. That makes cows roughly 20 times deadlier than sharks, Wildlife X Team reported. When cows get scared, they tend to charge, and are known to team up against their target. While most people think bulls are the most violent, female cows are actually the anger of the two genders, according to Wildlife X Team.
