George Washington University’s (GWU) Students for Justice in Palestine hosted a “Vigil for the Martyrs of Palestine” on the school’s campus Tuesday night, according to a promotion on the group’s social media page.
Following Hamas’ deadly surprise attack from the Gaza Strip that has killed over 1,000 in Israel, including 14 Americans, the students gathered to “grieve” the dead Hamas terrorists and “uplift the struggle for liberation that they made the ultimate sacrifice for,” the organization announced in an Instagram post. Student leaders, the majority of whom wore face coverings, chanted things such as, “We will honor all our martyrs. All our children, sons and daughters,” and “’Israel Israel you will learn. By the millions we’ll return,” according to footage recorded by The Daily Signal’s Mary Margaret Olohan.

When Olohan and her colleague attempted to find out the identities of the organizers, the students formed a crowd around the pair and used their phone flashlights to prevent them from continuing to film, video shows.

GWU Students for Justice in Palestine released a statement Monday following Hamas’ brutal slaughter, saying the group “stands in full support of the liberation of our homeland and our people’s right to resist the violent 75-year long colonization of our homeland by any means necessary.”
The Daily Caller reached out to both George Washington University and GWU Students for Justice in Palestine for comment but did not hear back by the time of publication.
