News outlet MSNBC experienced a 33 percent decline in primetime ratings during their coverage of Hamas’ war against Israel.

MSNBC viewership was down 24 percent between Oct. 7 and Oct. 10, as Fox News and CNN saw a surge during the same timeframe, according to the Daily Mail. Fox News’ numbers shot up by 42 percent, while CNN’s figures increased by 17 percent.

“These numbers tell you a lot about MSNBC, which excels at Trump-era liberal therapy but can’t match others during global historic events,” wrote Dylan Byers, a media reporter for Puck.

MSNBC proposed publishing a joint death toll of Israelis and Palestinians, setting itself apart from other news networks, the Daily Mail reported. The outlet was also criticized for anchor Andrea Mitchell’s line of questioning Tuesday night during an interview with an Israeli mother whose two children were taken hostage during the Hamas terror attacks.

“I can’t be sympathetic anymore. I can’t be sympathetic to animal human beings — well, they’re not really human beings — who came into my house, broke everything,” Renana Gomeh, the mother of kidnapped children, told Mitchell.

Israel formally declared war on Hamas on Saturday night after the Islamic terror group attacked southern Israel. Secretary of State Antony Blinken confirmed that at least 25 Americans were among those dead. MSNBC’s ratings have been declining for a long time. The broadcaster reported its lowest total viewership in May 2022 as CNN’s viewership also declined. Fox News primetime ratings have far exceeded MSNBC as far back as June 2019.
