Operations & Marketing Manager

The Daily Caller is seeking a motivated, proactive, team player to join us for the chance to be a part of a fast-paced and fun startup company that’s still growing rapidly in its 8th year.

The Operations & Marketing Manager’s core responsibilities will include making sure day-to-day operations run smoothly in the office while also aggressively promoting The Daily Caller’s content.

On the operations side you will handle onboarding for all employees, freelancers and interns, manage internal business meetings and run the internship program from start to finish each semester. On the marketing side you will promote our top news stories and exclusives, generate and distribute press releases, and pitch exclusive interviews to media and Capitol Hill contacts.

Other responsibilities include support for the Director of Programmatic & Advertising Operations and Senior Vice President of Sales, including generating reports, sending client emails, prospect research and incoming sales requests.

Working closely with management will afford the opportunity to influence big decisions of a growing website with over 15 million unique visitors per month.

Junior Web Developer

The Daily Caller (dailycaller.com) is a political news site based in downtown Washington DC.
 
With nearly 50 million pageviews a month, and peak traffic of 50,000 concurrent visitors, the site is built on a highly customized WordPress CMS back end, and a Redis/NodeJS/Express front end, and various modifications to handle load and to provide peak traffic resilience.
 
It’s hosted in a dedicated distributed environment, with multiple caching layers, and attached to AWS for backup and extra load capacity.
 
The primary responsibility of this resource will be to maintain and extend the UI/UX and revenue generating features of the Daily Caller while working within the existing framework.
 
This resource will be expected to:
 
Diagnose, enhance, and develop new code in Javascript in the browser and in NodeJS
Cut PSD files into usable CSS/HTML
Modify existing page elements
The following skills are required and must be demonstrable to the hiring manager:
Extensive knowledge and experience writing HTML5, CSS3, and Javascript.
Experience with Redis, JQuery, AJAX.
Knowledge of caching systems such as Varnish and Cloudflare.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with version control systems, especially Git.
Experience with issue tracking systems.
 
The following skills are highly desirable and will distinguish top candidates:
 
Design and produce new front end elements from scratch.
Develop and use headless web testing
WordPress plugin development and maintenance in PHP

 

 

Product Reviewer

Do you have a passion for products? Do you spend your free time combing the internet for the best deals out there? The Daily Caller, a 24-hour online news publication founded by Tucker Carlson and Neil Patel, is looking for writers to grow its commerce team, the Daily Dealer.

The ideal candidate will be a strong writer with keen research skills and the ability to communicate the pros and cons of certain products in a compelling and informative manner. Daily Dealer writers should also have a budding curiosity about the growing world of e-commerce and a desire to understand what drives online shopping behavior, as well as how to tailor content to fit audience needs.

We are especially looking for writers with an interest in reviewing home appliances and furniture and/or outdoor equipment.
