John Legend said he doesn’t “care about fucking Sarah Sanders,” and would rather reporters ask him about “reuniting 2,000 kids with their families” instead of worrying about Sanders being asked to leave a restaurant.
“Ask me should we be reuniting 2,000 kids with their [families]. Ask me that. Yes, we should,” the 39-year-old singer told TMZ in a piece published Thursday when asked if he thought the personal attacks on the White House Press Secretary were appropriate. “I don’t care about fucking Sarah Sanders,” he added. “Reunite the fucking kids with their families, and then we’ll talk about Sarah Sanders and her fucking dinner.”
At one point, the singer also claimed that it was “ridiculous” to say Rep. Maxine Waters might have cost the Democrats the mid-term elections after she put out a call to action for people to harass members of President Donald Trump’s cabinet in public.
“Maxine [Waters] is the OG and she did a great job,” Legend said. “She called them out.”
The comments came in response to a video showing Waters calling on people to push back on those who work for the administration, like driving Sanders and Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen out of restaurants.
“If you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station — you get out and you create a crowd and you push back on them and you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere,” the congresswoman explained during a “Keep Families Together” rally over the weekend.
