The Republican party will hold on to their majority in the U.S. House of Representatives and pick up more seats in the U.S. Senate, according to at least one oddsmaker.
Analyst David Strauss believes the booming economy and national security concerns related to immigration will bring Republicans to the polls, even in what is normally a difficult environment for the party of the incumbent president. (RELATED: Eight Violent Attacks On Republicans Just This Year)
“I see the immigrant caravan and the promised middle class tax cut as unifying issues that will drive Republicans to the polls,” Strauss said. “Democrats, as usual, will throw up their arms and stay home.”

Attempting to take advantage of a friendly map, expanding the GOP’s Senate majority has long been a goal for party leaders. The oddsmakers at MyBookie currently have Republicans favored to pick up Senate seats in battle-ground states like North Dakota, Missouri, and Florida.
Saving their majority in the House has been seen as a long-shot for Republicans, but MyBookie believes that the smart money is on Republicans to maintain control of that chamber.
